Dry Macular Degeneration or Dry MAC is an early stage of the disease and may result from the aging and thinning of macular tissues, depositing of pigment in the macula or a combination of the two processes.
Gradual central vision loss may occur with dry macular degeneration but usually is not nearly as severe as wet MAC symptoms.
People with dry macular degeneration must carefully and constantly monitor their central vision. If you notice any changes in your vision tell your ophthalmologist right away, as dry mac can change into wet macular degeneration at any time.
If you are having any issues, do not self diagnose or self treat. Please call or contact us today to schedule an appointment to see how we can best save your sight.
